"Once upon a time - and it wasn't" ... - that's how many Turkish fairy tales begin. For a long time, inventing and telling folk tales was considered the domain of women in Turkish culture. This may explain their special spiritual atmosphere. The great scholar and poet Jalal ad-Din Rumi was one of the first to record individual stories in Anatolia in the 13th century in order to add them to his writings. With the storytelling art of Axel Grube, the mood and wisdom of Turkish fairy tales are conveyed both deeply and vividly.
